Tired of that old local park or run-down back yard? Take your catch exploits into the heart of the city with this Sunday afternoon happening, which sees gloved heroes of all ages converge on Shinjuku's Central Park in October. On the day, all participants can try out a special urethane ball, approved by the Japan Professional Baseball Players Association, and catch a talk by former Yakult Swallows catcher and Players Union firebrand Atsuya Furuta, while there's also plenty of fun for kids still too small to be throwing any balls.
