What’s on

Dan Wilson: Let Me Teach You Some Japanese

Popular online for his hilarious videos about Japanese language and culture, Dan Wilson brings his internet-fuelled chaos to the Tokyo Comedy Bar stage for a show blending stand-up comedy, language lessons and brutally funny observations about life in Japan. Originally from Arizona, Wilson spent nine years performing manzai on Japanese television, grinding through the traditional comedy system before eventually snapping and taking his comedy in a completely different direction. Now he brings that unique experience to the stage with the perspective of a foreigner who survived Japan’s intense TV comedy world. Whether you’re a longtime Tokyoite or new in town, this one’s sure to strike a chord.

Elena Gabrielle: Disturb the Vibe

Australian-born Elena Gabrielle has captivated sold-out audiences the world over and racked up tens of millions of views on YouTube with her embarrassingly hilarious date stories and confessions. Her ‘Disturb the Vibe’ show, in which Elena infuses her stand-up with powerhouse vocals and cheeky musical parodies, comes to Tokyo right at the tail end of sakura season. Late hanami party during the day, chaotic comedy at night? Sign us up.

No-Bro Comedy

Tokyo Comedy Bar’s monthly showcase celebrates women, non-binary and trans comedians, with a line-up of six to seven regular performers plus an extended headliner set. Hosted by Kat Randle and featuring the likes of Yuki Nivez, the capital’s queen of deadpan comedy and the current reigning Roast Battle Champion of Japan, the No-Bro show is always a good time – as long as you can take the non-stop energy.
