Time Out says

Travel back in time to the Edo period for a week this September. The Tokyo Edo Week is all about celebrating traditional Japanese crafts, fashion, food and culture. There will be plenty of entertainment, such as kimono fashion parades and musical performances, as well as workshops where you can try your hand at arts and crafts like Edo-era caricature drawing, decorative kogin zashi embroidery, and creating your own tenugui (handkerchiefs) with stencils and ink.

Like any Japanese festival, you are sure to have more options for food than there are hours in the day to try them all. Expect tempura, sushi, Edo yasai (heritage vegetables of the Tokyo region), yakisoba, local craft beer and sake, and much more.
