The extensive Toshima shopping arcade north of Oji Station is perhaps best known for this annual Tanabata celebration, which sees the entire 600m street decorated for the occasion. A variety of events will be taking place throughout the end of July and early August, but the highlight is on August 3, when a samba parade lends some Brazilian flavour to the streets of Kita-ku.
