This festival takes place during the anniversary of the completion of the original Edo-era earthen walls that make up this shrine, now 250 years old. Much like many other Tori no Ichi celebrations, it includes the sale of kumade and kakkome charms (¥1,000). In addition, the festival also will be raffling off special gold-leaf taikin amulets that have an auspicious seabream (tai) theme, so don’t miss your chance at one of these. The second and third festivals take place on November 18 and 30 respectively, so you'll have three chances to ensure your luck for 2018.
