Mercer Union is delighted to announce that Mason Leaver-Yap will give a lecture titled Mediated Monologues on Thursday 12 January 2017 at 6:30PM. This lecture is presented in partnership with the MVS Proseminar at the John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture Landscape and Design at the University of Toronto.

Mason Leaver-Yap works with artists to produce texts, exhibitions, and events. Recent projects include work with Lizzie Borden, Scott Rogers, Leslie Thornton, Lucy McKenzie and Atelier EB, Andrea Büttner, Moyra Davey, Pat Hearn, Artists' Campaign to Repeal the Eighth Amendment, Sharon Hayes, Charlotte Prodger, James Richards, Pauline Boudry/Renate Lorenz, Marwa Arsanios, and Renée Green. They live in Glasgow and Berlin.

Mediated Monologues is a continually changing lecture structure that examines the relations of intimacy. Spanning experiences of friendship, loss and violence, this project thinks about the spaces in which intimacy occurs (forcefully or otherwise) and how intimacy is expressed verbally and in published/public form.

This event is presented as part of Mercer Union’s ongoing fORUM critical conversation series, including talks, lectures, interviews, screenings and performances at Mercer Union. Free as always.
