On Sunday, May 1st, come to enjoy “Le petit prince”, an enchanting blend of storytelling and music based on the novella by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry presented by Spectrum Music!

“If you please, draw me a sheep…” so begins the encounter with the most extraordinary small person in Antoine De Saint-Exupéry’s beloved classic. In this presentation, the story is conveyed through a seven-movement suite written for string quartet and jazz quintet, fusing the classical and jazz genres. With the help of select drawings from the book projected onto the back wall of the stage, and short passages of French text, read by the musicians, the resulting multilayered presentation is, like the novel that inspired it, enjoyable by all ages - children and grown-ups alike!

Spectrum Music is a group of Canadian composers who create and present a contemporary hybrid of new music and jazz. They present innovative, genre-defying themed concerts that explore intersections between subcultures in Toronto.
