The Documentaries Of Demme +1: A Tribute says
On April 26 of this year, we lost one of America’s most underrated filmmakers: Jonathan Demme. Decorated with accolades throughout his career for mainstream successes including Silence of the Lambs and Philadelphia, he nevertheless didn’t quite get his due as an artist with a singular sensibility and unmistakable humanism.

Demme’s infectious spirit runs through nearly all his work, whether it’s in early B-movies produced by Roger Corman, inventive concert films, cult favourites, Hollywood hits or considerable contributions to documentary. We invite you to join us at Hot Docs for a special tribute to the documentaries (and one bonus fiction title!) of Jonathan Demme. http://ow.ly/9G5k30coE8k
