There’s a theatre show, a huge behind-the-scenes studio tour, a brand new big-budget TV series and more unofficial merch shops than you can throw a golden snitch at. But just when you thought that there was enough Harry Potter-related stuff to keep UK fans happy, a brand new attraction has been announced. Finally, Potterheads will be able to experience what it would be like to ride the Hogwarts Experience.

Warner Bros Discovery has joined forces with Rail Events Inc to create ‘Harry Potter: A Hogwarts Express Adventure’. Only a few details have been unveiled so far, but we know that it’ll be an immersive train journey with realistic character interactions and themed dining, and launch later this year.

In a sneak peak video shared on Instagram, Rail Inc revealed that there will be a pre-boarding experience with ‘clever nods to platform nine and three-quarters’. There’ll be on-board competitions with Hogwarts hosts and, at the end of the journey, a chance to sink a pint of butterbeer and pick up some bespoke merch.

In the meantime, the closest thing you’ll get to a Hogwarts Express experience is aboard the Caledonian Sleeper, which travels from London to the Scottish Highlands and over the Glenfinnan Viaduct that featured in the films. You can read what Time Out’s film editor thought of the journey here
