Wondering whether to head for a beach holiday or a music festival this summer? Well, at Boardmasters festival you can do both. This year the music festival set on the Cornish coast is headlined by Fatboy Slim, Lily Allen and Kasabian. 

Boardmasters began life as a surf competition 45 years ago, and has since evolved into a major addition to the UK summer festival scene, with big name musical headliners, a wellness ‘haven’ and sprawling campsites backdropped by the stunning Atlantic coastline. For 2026, the Newquay festival will feature the aforementioned headline performances, as well as huge sets from the likes of the Kooks, Nia Archives, Loyle Carner, Dizzee Rascal and Tinie Tempah. 

The festival expects more than 50,000 attendees for its 2026 edition, and the lineup is rounded-out with DJ sets, tribute acts for the likes of Pitbull and ABBA, skating, surfing and wellness activities.

When is Boardmasters Festival 2026?

Boardmasters Festival is happening from Wednesday August 5 to Sunday August 9 2026. 

The general campsite is open from 10am on Wednesday until 12pm on Monday August 10.

Where is Boardmasters Festival 2026

Boardmasters Festival spans two locations in Newquay, Cornwall. Watergate Bay is the main festival location, where the campsites and arena can be found within a 15-minute walk. Additionally, Fistral Beach hosts the legendary surf competition, skating events, beach bar and shopping village.

Who are the headliners for Boardmasters 2026?

Fatboy Slim, Lily Allen, and Kasabian are the main headliners for 2026. Here’s which day they’re headlining, and set time. 

• Friday – Fatboy Slim (Main Stage, 9pm-11pm)
• Saturday – Lily Allen (Main Stage, 10pm-11pm)

Last-minute tickets for Boardmasters Festival 2026

Most accommodation options remain available, except sold-out ‘basic’ and ‘standard’ pre-pitched tents and the ‘live-ins’ campsite (for campervans, caravans, and rooftop-tent cars). Extra packages, including the hospitality lounge, Salt & Spray beauty boutique, Vodafone battery packs, and lockers, are also still available.

The forecast is mostly cloudy, with some sun across the five days. Temperatures will remain high, while the chance of rain remains low. Here’s the day-by-day forecast.

• Wednesday August 5 – generally windy, with lows of 16C and highs of 19C

How to get to Boardmasters Festival

Car

If you’re travelling by car, organisers warn not to follow your sat nav, and to instead follow the signage directing you towards Green Gate. Through Green Gate you’ll find signage to the pick-up and drop-off area, open 24hrs, as well as signage towards parking.

Parking is limited and must be booked in advance, starting at £50. Accessible parking is also available for Blue-badge holders and pre-booked accessibility ticket holders. Parking is open in the following hours:

• Wednesday to Thursday: 10am-9pm
• Friday to Sunday: 10am-12am
• Monday: 12am-2pm

Train

If you’re travelling to Boardmasters by train, the nearest station is Newquay. 

After arriving at Newquay station, you can hop on a 10-minute shuttle bus to Watergate Bay. The £15 shuttle bus ticket includes access to unlimited shuttle bus trips throughout the duration of the festival. Shuttle buses run at the following times:

• Wednesday to Thursday: 7am-10pm
• Friday to Sunday: 7am-3pm
• Monday: 7am-2pm

Coach

Boardmasters is also an official travel partner with Big Green Coach, with seats from £20. Big Green Coach offers coach travel for campers from 87 pick up locations direct to Watergate Bay. This includes eight London locations, ranging from Brent Cross to Richmond. Big Green Coach also offers 13 local day-return options for day ticket holders. 

Banned items at Boardmasters

There are a few things you’re not allowed to bring with you. Here’s a complete list of the banned items for Boardmasters:

• Animals (except assistance dogs)
• Aerosols (excluding suncream and deodorant. Liquid suncream and roll-on deodorant are permitted)
• Bladed items, including multi tools
• Candles or sky lanterns
• Anything that could be reasonably considered for use as a weapon
• Campfires
• Drones or remote controlled flying devices
• Fireworks, flares, smoke bombs or smoke machines
• Food into the main arena (sealed food can be brought into the campsite). If you have a medical condition which requires you to carry food on you for personal consumption, please bring a medical letter or doctor’s note including details of your requirements as you will be asked to present this.
• Gas canisters or cylinders (except built into campervans)
• Generators (except those built into campervans)
• Glass bottles (excluding perfume bottles 50ml and under into the campsites)
• High-vis jackets or unofficial tabards
• Illegal substances (psychoactive substances, nitrous oxide or legal highs)
• Laser equipment / pointer pens
• Spray paint
• Professional camera or video recording equipment (including SLRs and anything with a detachable lens)
• Spirits (alcohol)
• Sound systems exceeding the following size specifications (H: 184mm x D: 73mm e.g. BOOM3, please note, if on a Day Ticket no sound systems are permitted)
• Single-use plastic
• Portable or disposable barbecues, gas, paraffin lamps, or fire / gas-related cooking equipment
• Megaphones, air horns, or compressed air

You are allowed to bring your own drinks, but make sure it’s not in a glass bottle as these will be confiscated.
