Looking to book a day trip to beat the winter blues? Great Western Railway has launched its January sale for journeys across the country.
The cheapest tickets start from £5 for journeys from London Paddington to Oxford – just 8p per mile. The list of discounted journeys also includes connections from London Paddington to Cardiff, Bristol, Exeter or Penzance.

If you fancy a slightly more luxurious journey, first class fares are also on sale, including £40 tickets from London Paddington to Bath Spa.
