This weekend one of the mightiest events in the UK festival calendar returns for 2026. This year’s edition of the Isle of Wight Festival will feature headline performances from The Cure, Calvin Harris and Lewis Capaldi, with plenty of other massive sets from the likes of the Last Dinner Party, Teddy Swims, the Sex Pistols and Wet Leg – the latter of whom are actually from the Isle of Wight.

Tens of thousands of punters will make their way across the Solent for IOW Festival 2026. Whether you’re camping all weekend or only at the festival for a day or two, Time Out has your back with our ultimate guide to the festival.

When is Isle of Wight Festival 2026?

This year’s event will take place on June 18-21 2026.

The campsite is open from 10am on Thursday til 2pm on Monday.

Where is Isle of Wight Festival 2026 and how do I get there?

As always, IOW 2026 will be held in Seaclose Park, Newport.

If you’re on the mainland UK, you can get ferries to the Isle of Wight from Portsmouth, Southampton and Lymington, as well as a hovercraft from Southsea. Once you’re on the island, you can get a bus to the event from Ryde and Yarmouth.

Can I still buy tickets for Isle of Wight Festival 2026?

The festival is officially sold out. However, at time of writing full-weekend and day tickets are still up for grabs on resale on Ticketmaster here.

Weather forecast

It’s gonna be a belter. This weekend is set to be very sunny and fairly warm – here’s the day-by-day forecast.

  • Thursday June 18 – cloudy with a chance of rain in the afternoon (12pm-5pm), lows of 14C and highs of 22C
  • Friday June 19 – cloudy in the morning, sunny and clear skies in the afternoon and evening. Lows of 15C, highs of 22C
  • Saturday June 20 – cloudy from the morning to about 2pm (with up to a 10 percent chance of precipitation), followed by clear skies. Lows of 14C, highs of 23C
  • Sunday June 21 – wall-to-wall sunshine, lows of 18C, highs of 28C

Banned items

The likes of chairs, empty refillable water bottles, medication and sealed plastic water bottles are allowed in both areas. However, here’s what is banned from the entire festival, and what’s just banned from the arena (ie is still allowed in the campsite).

Banned from camping and the festival

  • Aerosols over 250 ml
  • Airhorns and megaphones
  • Animals and pets
  • Any items which may cause offence to any other person
  • Any items which may reasonably be considered for use as a weapon or may cause danger to others
  • Bicycles / electric scooters / scooters / roller-skates / skateboards
  • Drones or other unmanned aerial vehicles
  • Firewood
  • Fireworks / pyrotechnics
  • Flares / distress flares / smoke bombs
  • Generators (exemption for generators in caravans)
  • Glass
  • Illegal substances
  • Legal highs and new psychoactive substances
  • Nitrous oxide and any associated equipment (balloons, Co2 dispensers, cream dispensers)
  • Paper lanterns or sky lanterns
  • Petrol burners
