Here’s how to see Metallica in London, Glasgow, or Cardiff next June and July

Back in 2023, Metallica played their then-brand new album, 72 Seasons, to Download Festival in Donington Park. They haven’t been back in the UK since, and metal-heads have been eagerly awaiting their return. That wait is finally over.
The heavy-metal legends have announced that they’ll be back on British soil next year, playing two nights in London, one in Glasgow, and one in Cardiff. Despite the three-year gap, the boys are still on the M72 tour, because if it ain’t broke, right?
As well as their UK dates, Metallica will also be heading across Europe and Ireland, and making a few festival appearances. If that sounds like something you definitely don’t want to miss, read on to find out exactly how to bag your tickets to the M72 tour in 2026.
Metallica will bring the M72 tour to the UK next summer, at the end of June and start of July. They’ll start in Scotland before making their way southward, first to Cardiff, then to two nights in the London Stadium. Each night will be unique in its setlist and support acts, so there’s no risk of boredom, even if you’ve caught the band on this tour before.
There are four UK dates confirmed for the tour. They are:
This will be James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich and co’s first concert in Cardiff since 1996 – that’s a 30-year wait for Welsh Metallica fans. Additionally, you can find out information specific to the London dates here.

Tickets will go live on May 30 at 10am local time. You’ll be able to buy them through Ticketmaster here, and you’ll be able to buy tickets for a single night, or one ticket for both London dates.
There are two presales, one of which is fan-only. If you are already a ‘fifth member’ (signed up to Metallica’s fanclub), you must request a presale code. These are free and can be requested here. These will be valid from 11am on May 27.
There is also an O2 Priority presale which will open up at 10am on May 28, and one on LiveNation at 10am May 29. Some venues also hold their own presales – check with your local venue to see if this is an option.
You don’t need to shell out too much to see Metallica – in fact, in presale the band has revealed pretty reasonable ticket prices (by stadium standards, anyway). The Glasgow gig has a range in price from £67.50 to £300, with pitch standing at £110 and seats ranging from £60 to £135.
In Cardiff, general admission standing starts from £125.
The more expensive tickets are likely to be VIP experiences which include access to a separate bar and other perks.
Here are the two seating maps for Glasgow and Cardiff, according to Ticketmaster.
Metallica are calling their answer to VIP ‘enhanced experience’ tickets, including the ‘I disappear’ pass, which grants you access to all of the band’s European dates for $1,798, or just over £1352. There are even more expensive passes also available, some of which even offer meet and greets with the band. You can find out more about this band of tickets here.
Once tickets have gone on sale, you’ll be able to get them on resale sites like Stubhub.
