Pitbull and Lewis Capaldi top the bill at the very first edition of Roundhay Festival in Leeds this weekend

Up until now, Leeds has only really been known to host one major music festival in the summer – the massive and very aptly named Leeds Festival. But this year, there’s a new fest in town. It’s called Roundhay Festival and it’s been organised by AEG Presents, the same people behind London’s BST Hyde Park and All Points East.
Spanning 700 acres of greenery and with a capacity of 69,999, Roundhay Festival – or American Express presents Roundhay Festival, as it’s officially known – is AEG’s biggest event yet. And it’s making its debut this weekend. Roundhay is kicking off on Friday with a headline show from none other than Mr Worldwide, AKA Pitbull. He’ll be joined by a roster of rappers and pop stars who’ll take you right back to the heydays of the early 2000s and 2010s. The next day’s bill will be led by Lewis Capaldi.

As the name suggests, the festival is taking place in Leeds’ Roundhay Park.
The quickest and most convenient way to get there from Leeds city centre will be to use the dedicated City Centre Shuttle service which will run every 20 minutes from 11am each day, picking people up from Sovereign Street. It’ll be £4.50 for a single journey (card only) and there’s no need to book.
If you’re getting to Leeds by car, the festival organisers suggest you find a space at Fearnville Park and Stride, which is a 30-minute walk from Roundhay Park. However, it’ll be closed on Sunday. Alternatively, book a space at Connaught Fields, which is a 10-minute walk to the west entrance of the event.
On Friday and Saturday, gates will open at 1pm. They’ll open a little later on Sunday at 2pm.
Note that there’s no re-admission – once you’re in, you’re in.
At the top of the bill for inaugural Roundhay Festival are Pitbull and Lewis Capaldi. They’ll be joined by special guests including Jason Derulo, Tinie Tempah and Conan Gray. The third day of the festival will be a live orchestral experience led by the Manchester-based Hallé Orchestra. Here’s a full breakdown of the lineup (set times yet to be confirmed).
You sure can. There are still tickets remaining for all three days of the festival starting from £69.95 for Pitbull’s day, £74.95 for Lewis Capaldi and £9.95 for Hallé Orchestra. Find them on Ticketmaster here and AXS here.
There will be some clouds over the weekend and a chance of light rain on Saturday and Sunday. Here’s the day-by-day forecast.
None of the following will be allowed on the festival grounds:
