With the UK reaching peak summer party season, we (and our livers) likely need a little time to relax and recuperate. If going to a relaxing spa is your go-to for some self-care, then you’re in luck. The country’s best spa hotel for 2023 has just been announced.

The victor in this year’s battle of the spas (ie the Good Spa Guide’s Best Spa Hotel award) was The Woodland Spa in Lancashire. Part of the luxe Crow Wood Hotel & Spa Resort and sat in the middle of 100 acres of countryside, The Woodland Spa combines tranquil scenery with massage-jet jacuzzis, glammy hydrotherapy and a heated outdoor infinity pool. On top of all that, The Woodland Spa has two very, very spacious 16-seater infinity-edge spa jacuzzis, both of which feature a retractable roof.

This is the second year in a row that The Woodland Spa has taken the top spot, beating stiff competition which included the likes of Champneys Spa at Mottram Hall in Cheshire, Rockliffe Hall in Darlington, Fairmont St Andrews in Scotland & Bulgari Spa in London.

If you’re up for treating yourself to a mid-year detox, you can find out more and arrange a visit on the spa’s official website here
