Orkney is home to 500 miles of coastline, an abundance of wildlife, one of the oldest Neolithic sites in Europe and stunning landscapes everywhere you look. The only issue is, it’s pretty far away from the rest of the UK and is certainly not the easiest to get to.

But visiting this remote Scottish island is about to get a hell of a lot simpler. A new route between London and Orkney has just been announced, set to launch in April 2023 with Loganair.

The service will operate twice weekly on a Tuesday and Friday and will take three-and-a-half-hours from London City Airport to Kirkwall Airport, stopping over in Dundee en route (but passengers are not required to leave the plane).

Fares start at £117.99 one way and come with a 15kg baggage allowance. Tickets are on sale now

ICYMI: this stunning part of the UK has been named one of the world’s best places to visit.

Plus: this is officially the best Christmas market in the UK.
