This top NYC cocktail bar will expand to Nashville this summer

It was in the year 2000 that a tiny New York City bar called Milk & Honey spurred what we now consider the modern cocktail revolution, with its legendary founder, the late Sasha Petraske, championing the revival of bygone classics in an intimate, unpretentious setting. That boozy promised land shuttered in 2013, but the space itself was immediately reclaimed by Petraske's disciples Sam Ross and Michael McIlroy, who carried on the torch with their own, similarly menu-free boîte, Attaboy.

Now, after three years of drink-slinging success (Attaboy recently took home the title of Best Bar Team at Time Out New York's Bar Awards 2016), the duo, along with partner Jason Seiden, expands the Attaboy brand to Nashville, Tennessee. Set to open by the end of this summer, the Music City outpost will be located at 8 McFerrin Ave, and will be helmed by a familiar face: original Attaboy bar man Brandon Bramhall, who'll relocate full time as managing partner. As with the flagship, the bar will be reservations-free and will focus on bartender's choice classics. From an early rendering (above), fans may also recognize the signature wood-and-steel bar that nods to Milk & Honey's original decor.

Nashville isn't the only stop for the team, according to Ross. Under the umbrella of Well Favoured Hospitality, Ross, McIlroy and Seiden are also eyeing projects as close to home as Brooklyn and as far flung as Asia.
