Prices aren't expect to drop again until April, when they should be down 1% after March's 7% increase. That is to say, now's the time to explore or re-visit a new place.
Hopper is expecting that the average cost of airfare may be below pre-pandemic levels, and while you can't time travel, you can make up for lost time by booking a getaway.
Wondering where to go? Hopper's data shows that some of the most popular domestic travel destinations aren't your typical vacation spots. Spokane, Portland, Bangor and Fairbanks are all trending as searches, likely for their proximity to National Parks. If you really want to save, plan your drip during one of 2024's free National Park entry days, which kick off on Monday, January 15 , for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
