A new resort opening in Cancun, Mexico this winter will help extend summer past its normal ending in the Northern Hemisphere. The Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun is the latest in the Blue Diamonds Resort family, a fast-growing resort chain in the Caribbean, in partnership with Marriott International. It’s an all-inclusive family-friendly resort set right on a Cancun's famous white-sand beach featuring one of the largest on-site waterparks in the Caribbean. This place will have not one but two lazy rivers, in addition to the water park, which will feature 14 monster slides, spray grounds and splash pads. There are also swimming pools for more laid-back guests.
In addition to the water fun, the resort has 10 different bars to tackle, 12 restaurants to indulge at, and an indoor trampoline park to bounce yourself happy (maybe do those three things in reverse order). Plus: bowling! There’s also a convention center, laser tag, a spa and a kid's club.
Inside your luxurious suite with a mid-century Modern vibe, you'll find a bed with high thread-count sheets, a rain shower, and a balcony or terrace. Many suites have ocean views and some have an in-suite Jacuzzi soaker tub.
The resort is 35 minutes from Cancun International Airport and close to other restaurants and nightclubs, golf courses and archeological sites. Plus, Playa del Carmen and Puerto Morelos are nearby for day trips to the coast. If you book by June 30 for a stay between December 20, 2022 and April 30, 2023, you can get 15 percent off.
