Cabins are great and all, but sleeping in a geometric dome under the stars is really something special.

This Dome Sweet Dome Airbnb listing in Bend, Oregon is the perfect rustic winter getaway with a touch of flair. Renovated in 2019, this Geodesic Dome is just a short walk away from the Deschutes River Trail, and offers a camping-style getaway within a short bike ride or drive to downtown Bend. Surrounded by a wrap-around porch in the forest, this dome makes guests feel like they're staying in a treehouse—but with electricity and grown-up amenities.

The two-bedroom accommodation offers two levels of living space and can host up to three guests. The window-filled dome also has a gas fireplace, wifi, laundry, TV, full kitchen, outdoor gas grill, and more, so you'll be able to access plenty of creature comforts on your woodsy vacation. The hosts are a local couple.

The unique vacation rental also has its own Facebook page if you want to keep up with what former guests are saying, recommendations for local events and activities, and also be in tune with last-minute openings to stay overnight.

Rates start at $144 per night for a three-night minimum, with a cleaning fee of $80. The dome books up three months in advance, so you'll want to bookmark it for a future creative getaway. No kids or pets are allowed, for safety reasons.
