Disney Adults, this one's for you. Disney is opening a first-of-its-kind development and community, Cotino, in Rancho Mirage, about 11 miles southeast of Palm Springs, in the Coachella Valley.

The project is a venture by Storyliving by Disney, a Disney company that encourages consumers to "Imagine your life set in a place where world-famous Disney service is at the heart of it all" in new home communities. The first of such will be Cotino.

At Cotino, single-family homes and condominiums will be available within the walkable community, plus a neighborhood for adults 55 and older. The multigenerational community can also take advantage of membership in the on-site Artisan Club. The beachfront clubhouse is inspired by the home of the heroic Parr family from Incredibles 2, and will offer a fitness center, pool, pickleball court, restaurant and more Disney signature events, performances and seasonal celebrations.

Perhaps most impressive to Cotino is the beach itself—this community is in the desert, after all. The property is being developed as an oasis with clear turquoise waters (thanks to Crystal Lagoons® technology), a white sand beach, plus a promenade to enjoy waterfront views and the mountains. If you've ever visited a Disney resort, you can imagine how elaborate the transformation will be.

Cotino has also received zoning approval to build a town center, with shops, an open-air market, restaurants and a future hotel.

Pricing has not yet been released, but Cotino home sales are expected to start in 2023.
