You’ve always wanted to travel cross-country with your bestie. Now is the chance to do that and get paid for it, like it’s a job, while you drink soda and get paid a crazy good $10,000 per city you visit, up to four cities. I’m asking myself why I’m writing this article rather than applying for this job!
Is there a catch? Well, you’ll have to document all the hijinks on social media, but you’d be doing that anyway. You’ll get to put the position of Senior Soda Consultant on your resume and forever have a great story to tell in your future job interviews.
The company that’s funding this is OLIPOP, a soda company created in 2018. It’s made of a prebiotic fiber called oligosaccharide plus carbonation: the oli + pop of its name. It comes in 16 different flavors and has some celebrity cachet since it’s funded by Mindy Kaling, Gwyneth Paltrow and the Jonas Brothers. But you don’t have to figure out how to pronounce oligosaccharide; you just have to get your friend together to do some awesome U.S. exploration while you drink.
Today through March 22, you and that best friend can apply here. The job starts April 5 on the East Coast, so you can work your way west while “celebrating iconic American cities & hyping up your bestie along the way,” according to the company.
Some important details: you won’t have to pay for anything. All your expenses will be covered, including airfare, food, and daily stipend, plus that total payout of $40k if you visit all four cities (and why on earth wouldn’t you?). Each city visit will last roughly five days. You and the friend need to be comfortable with each other and have experience in uploading awesome content to Insta, TikTok and Threads—and be able to share a convincing love of soda.
To apply, you’ll need to submit resumes for each of you, plus a video of the two of you enjoying OLIPOP while doing something fun. Finally, you’ll need to prove you can rally excitement on social and tag @drinkolipop and use the hashtag #OLIdreamjob. It occurs to us that this is brilliant on their part because you’re giving them free advertising while auditioning for the role. Well, anyway...hope you get the job!
