From desert canyon tours to skyline cruises, Tripadvisor’s latest rankings reveal what travelers in the U.S. are actually booking right now.

Tripadvisor just released its 2026 Travelers’ Choice “Best of the Best Things To Do” awards—based entirely on millions of user reviews—that offer a snapshot of what people actually book and recommend to friends.
At the top of the list is a full-day excursion from Las Vegas to Lower Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend, a combo that mixes two of the Southwest’s most surreal landscapes (think winding sandstone corridors followed by that sweeping, Instagram-famous river bend) in a single trip.
That sense of scale carries through much of the list. Another Vegas-based tour that bundles the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam lands near the top, reinforcing what Tripadvisor’s data suggests more broadly: travelers right now want to see a lot and they want to do it efficiently.
Some of the most popular experiences skew slower and more local. In Chicago, a river cruise dedicated to architecture continues to draw top ratings, turning a simple boat ride into a deep dive on the city’s skyline. In Florida, a clear kayak tour through Shell Key Preserve offers a quieter kind of spectacle—marine life beneath your feet in shallow, crystal-clear water.
New York shows up more than once, with a Central Park pedicab tour taking the top spot locally thanks to thousands of five-star reviews, alongside a guided visit to the 9/11 Memorial that remains one of the city’s most meaningful experiences.
Elsewhere, a walking tour through Salem, Massachusetts, leans into the town’s witch-trial past, while Pearl Harbor and the USS Arizona Memorial in Honolulu continue to draw visitors looking for something more reflective.
