Cheaper than a dinner date, concert tickets or even takeout, this new flight deal is super tempting to book on a whim and get out of town.

PLAY, the low-cost Icelandic airline, is offering a Valentine's Day special with romantic getaways starting at $99 for flights to Iceland or $129 for flights to one of nine European destinations, with a free stopover in Iceland between North America and Europe.

Additional destinations include London, Paris, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Berlin, Dublin, Stockholm, Frankfurt, or Hamburg. Stateside, PLAY's flights depart from Boston, Washington D.C., and New York.  And with a stop in Reykjavik, you can really get two trips in one.

“PLAY has taken advantage of Iceland’s location near Europe to bring travelers convenient flights and affordable fares, and now the stopover feature brings even more benefits to our passengers," said PLAY CEO Birgir Jónsson. "Rather than having a few hours layover in Iceland, travelers can make a stop to this bucket-list destination for an extra day or week to experience everything our home country has to offer. Long stayovers are a win-win for both us and our passengers to enable exploration at a low price.”

The special deal runs through February 6, 2024, at 11:59 pm ET and is valid for one-way flights with PLAY's Basic Bundle. Flights must be between February and May 2024 or September and December 2024. That is, summer in Iceland may cost a little more, so plan ahead.
