June 1 marks a historic day for Netflix—it’ll launch its first-ever live video podcast stream, and it’ll be hosted by Charlamagne tha God.

The artist’s show that he co-hosts with DJ Envy and Jess Hilarious, The Breakfast Club, will air both as a live video show on Netflix each weekday and as a radio broadcast on iHeartRadio. Instead of commercial breaks that happen on the radio, the three-hour Netflix stream will show exclusive bonus segments, behind‑the‑scenes moments, extended discussions and other original content.

What does the podcast entail? Like many, you can expect “unfiltered conversations, headline‑driving interviews and cultural commentary as it happens,” according to iHeartMedia. Because it’s a daily show, it was a good match for Netflix, which says it’s trying to get into the podcast and creator-driven content space. The streamer already launched a pre-recorded podcast show with Pete Davidson, a sports podcast from football icon Michael Irvin, official Bridgerton and One Piece companion pods, as well as popular podcasts “My Favorite Murder” and shows under The Ringer umbrella like from Bill Simmons.

But as a daily live podcast, The Breakfast Club will be a whole new experience.

“Do y’all understand what ‘Live Globally’ really means? Mornings in New York. Daytime in the U.K. and Ghana. Evenings across other parts of the world,” said Charlamagne tha God in a statement. “The media landscape will always evolve, but one thing consistently cuts through: live programming. That’s a big reason The Breakfast Club has sustained its reign for so long. We’re building something powerful—real‑time conversation, real community, on a global scale. The future belongs to those who can see what’s possible—and trust me, the vision for The Breakfast Club and Netflix is crystal clear.”

Originally launched in 2010, The Breakfast Club is a fun hip-hop/R&B talk show that covers a wide range of pop culture topics. Former President Barack Obama, former President Joe Biden, former Vice President Kamala Harris, Jay-Z, Cardi B, Kendrick Lamar, Kevin Hart, Snoop Dogg, Future, 50 Cent, Lizzo, Will Smith, Alicia Keys and many more have appeared on the show. So, it’d be safe to assume there will be the same caliber of guest on the Netflix stream.

You can watch previous episodes on Netflix already in preparation for the live show.

It starts on June 1 and airs on weekdays from 5:30 - 10am EST and on Saturdays from 7 - 10am.
