If 2020 has taught us just one thing, it's that we can't get attached to anything—not even Taco Bell favorites. Following a massive menu purge last month, Taco Bell announced this week that it's doing away with several more items: Mexican Pizza, pico de gallo and shredded chicken (in the form of soft tacos, burritos and quesadilla melts) are no more.

Fans are most audibly upset about the demise of the taco chain's Mexican Pizza, which is a messy mélange of crisp "pizza shells," refried beans, seasoned beef, pizza sauce, cheese and tomatoes. The three items will be removed from Taco Bell's menus starting November 5, making room for new innovations to come.

"We’re constantly evaluating ways to provide a more efficient restaurant experience, and have already begun to see progress from streamlining our menu," Taco Bell president and COO Mike Grams said in a statement. "While we know fans may be understandably sad to see some of their favorites go, this evolution of our menu truly paves the way for fresh new ideas. The creativity and innovation in our kitchen hasn’t slowed down at all, and we look forward to rolling out new fan favorites."

Here's one silver lining: Nixing the Mexican Pizza from its menu will actually help Taco Bell cut down its environmental footprint moving forward. According to QSR, the packaging used for the menu item accounts for more than 7 million pounds of paperboard material used in the U.S. each year.

Taco Bell will also introduce several new items to the menu, including the Chicken Chipotle Melt, the Dragonfruit Freeze, Green Sauce and the Quesalupa. Keep your eyes peeled and your hearts hungry for more Taco Bell menu changes coming soon.
