Summer's coming to a close but fall TV season is firing up.
September 2026 brings major broadcast network premieres, returning reality heavyweights and high-profile streaming debuts—and some great original films you won't want to miss.
From The Mandalorian and Grogu on Disney+ to American Horror Story: 13 on Hulu, there's a lot to look forward to and talk about this autumn. With so much arriving this season, it can get a little overwhelming to decide what to watch, but Time Out is here to help.
Here are the 10 new streaming titles (with their premiere dates and trailers) that we’re most looking forward to in September.
When does it premiere? September 2 on Disney+
Who is in the cast? Sigourney Weaver with Martin Scorsese and Jeremy Allen White lending their voices.
What's it about? “The evil Empire has fallen, and Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy," reads the official synopsis of the 2026 sci-fi films. "As the fledgling New Republic works to protect everything the Rebellion fought for, they have enlisted the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his young apprentice Grogu.”
When does it premiere? September 4 on Apple TV
Who's in the cast? Ryan Reynolds and Kenneth Branagh
What's it about? “When hotshot U.S. Navy pilot Lieutenant Troy ‘Assassin’ Kelly (Reynolds) is sent on a top-secret mission into Russian territory at the height of the Cold War, the operation implodes, leaving him stranded behind enemy lines," per the logline of the action-adventure flick. "Discovered by Nikolai Ustinov (Branagh), a gruff ex-KGB agent with a penchant for American culture, Troy thinks he’s toast—but could an unlikely alliance between the two lead to Troy’s rescue and a bond neither saw coming?”
When does it premiere? September 4 on Peacock
Who's in the cast? Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore, alongside Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young and Tim Key, with Oscar Nunez
What's it about? “The documentary crew that immortalized Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch in the Emmy Award-winning series The Office find a new subject when they discover a historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher trying to revive it,” reads the season two description.
When does it premiere? September 16 on Apple TV
Who's in the cast? Gary Oldman, Jack Lowden, Kristin Scott Thomas, Jonathan Pryce, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar, Christopher Chung and Aimee-Ffion Edwards.
What's it about? “This darkly funny espionage drama follows a team of British intelligence agents who serve in a dumping ground department of MI5 due to their career-ending mistakes," reads the official series description. "Led by their brilliant but irascible leader, the notorious Jackson Lamb (Academy Award winner Sir Gary Oldman), they navigate the espionage world’s smoke and mirrors to defend England from sinister forces.”
When does it premiere? September 16 on Prime Video
Who's in the cast? Maria Sten, Alan Ritchson, Greyston Holt, Adeline Rudolph, Jasper Jones
What's it about? “Frances Neagley (Maria Sten) is a private investigator in Chicago and former military protege of Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) in the Army’s 110th Special Investigations Unit. When she learns that a beloved friend from her past has been killed in a suspicious accident, she becomes hell-bent on justice," per the series logline. "Using everything she’s learned from Jack Reacher and her time as a member of the 110 Special Investigators, Neagley puts herself on a dangerous path to uncover a menacing evil.”
When does it premiere? September 18 on Peacock (September 17 on NBC)
What's it about? “Hosted by award-winning actor Alan Cumming at an ancient castle set deep in the Scottish Highlands, contestants work together on a series of exhilarating missions to build a prize fund worth up to $250,000. Hidden amongst the Faithful are the Traitors, whose goal is to eliminate the Faithful and claim the prize for themselves," says the show description. "Under the cover of darkness, the Traitors murder the Faithful one by one in a treacherous spree, while the Faithful try to uncover the Traitors and banish them from the game. If the Faithful contestants banish all the Traitors, they will share the prize fund, but if a Traitor or Traitors makes it to the end, they will steal all the money.”
When does it premiere? September 17 on Netflix
What is it about? “We pick up right after the events of the Season 1 finale. The crew—which includes Eleven (voiced by Brooklyn Davey Norstedt), Mike (Luca Diaz), Will (Benjamin Plessala), Dustin (Braxton Quinney), Lucas (Elisha “EJ” Williams), Max (Jolie Hoang-Rappaport), and Nikki (Odessa A’zion)—resume their regular activities of arcade gaming, HIC missions, and preparing for the upcoming Valentine’s Day festivities," according to Netflix's season two synopsis. "There’s just one problem: A strange new phenomenon is surfacing all over their town of Hawkins, Indiana.”

Who's in the cast? Ella Beatty, Vicky Krieps, Charlie Hunnam, Rebecca Hall, Jessica Barden, Joey Pollari, Billie Lourd and Sarah Paulson.
What's it about? “When the repressed daughter of a wealthy New England family and her rebellious maid find themselves trapped in a house built on humiliation and cruelty, they escape into a fantasy of sex, power, and revenge," per the logline. "The gruesome unsolved murders that follow don’t just shock the world—they give birth to an icon who refuses to live imprisoned in a cage, choosing instead to forge her own legend: shocking, monstrous, and gloriously free.”
When does it premiere? September 24 on FX and Hulu (three episodes)
Who's in the cast? Jessica Lange, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Emma Roberts
What's it about? “Bringing together an all-star cast, many of whom are reprising fan-favorite roles, American Horror Story: 13 continues to build on the anthology’s decades-long legacy," says FX. "Which iconic horrors will return to haunt the hallowed halls of 13 and what new terrors await? Light your candles, draw your pentagrams and prepare for a supreme surprise.”
When does it premiere? September 24 on Netflix
Who's in the cast? Kadeem Hardison, Jasmine Guy, Maleah Joi Moon, Alijah Kai, Cornell Young IV, Jordan Aaron Hall, Kennedi Reece, Chibuikem Uche, Darryl M. Bell, Cree Summer, Charnele Brown, Jenifer Lewis, Jada Pinkett Smith, Dawnn Lewis, and Glynn Turman, Jasmine Guy and Kadeem Hardison.
What it's about? “When Deborah, Dwayne Wayne, and Whitley Gilbert's free-spirited, well-intentioned, yet rebellious youngest child, enters her freshman year at Hillman College, she finds the shadow of her parents difficult to escape as she sets out to build her own legacy, while having the time of her life, alongside a whole new generation of Hillman's best and brightest,” says the synopsis of the sitcom revival.
