If you're flying solo in 2024, you may want to consider residency in one of these states.

WalletHub analyzed data to determine the best states for singles to live, looking at metrics including dating economics (community well-being, unemployment rate, housing affordability, etc.), plus romance and fun opportunities such as restaurants, attractions, online dating metrics and more.

At the top of the list: Florida. A large part of this ranking is the state's enormous attractions—Disney World, Universal Studios, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and more. If you're not a Disney Adult, this may not be the singles capital of America for you, but there's still the Everglades and a high quantity of Google searches related to dating.

Next on the list is Texas, thanks to its huge population, about 29.53 million people call the state home. Whether you're looking for love, single friends or just want to casually socialize, there's likely someone out there for you.

Coming in third for singles is California, which is the most populous state in the U.S. (there are over 39 million Californians), plus attractions and a history of reported "relationship openness."

New York comes in fourth place, followed by Pennsylvania, Illinois, Wisconsin, Ohio, Virginia and New Jersey in tenth place.

The ranking data is definitely skewed towards singles looking for a relationship, but whether you're happily or unhappily single, these states and their low costs of living, affordable restaurants and bars, professional growth and more may be the best in the U.S. for singles.

Looking for the worst states to be single? Kentucky, Alaska, Arkansas, North Dakota and West Virginia are all at the bottom of the list.
