Plant-based eating is on the rise, more than just a trend, but a lifestyle many are embracing, whether that be flexitarianism or full-on veganism. And if you're traveling with food limitations, knowing there will be satisfying and intriguing options to suit your diet can make or break a trip. For veg-centric eaters, Tripadvisor is offering some help, curating the top vegetarian and vegan spots across the country, according to avid travelers.
At the top of the list is The Studio in Hilton Head, South Carolina. While the beachy restaurant isn't a fully plant-based eatery, the menu strongly focuses on vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options like "spicy jerk chick-un" and seitan steak and mushroom crepes. Filet mignon and seafood are also served to please a family of omnivores with divided dietary restrictions but a desire to eat together.
Second on the list is Full Bloom Vegan in Miami, which focuses on organic and local ingredients. Three more southern spots lead the rankings: Plant Vegan Restaurant in Asheville, North Carolina; Bouldin Creek Cafe in Austin, Texas; and Fox & Fig Cafe in Savannah, Georgia.
Following the sixth top spot, Russell's By Eat Healthy in Kapaa, Hawaii, is perhaps the world's most famous vegan fine dining destination, Eleven Madison Park in New York City. The three Michelin star restaurant famously went completely plant-based in 2022, citing sustainability as a top reason to cut out animal products on the elite tasting menu.
The top 10 list of best vegetarian destinations includes another New York City spot, P.S. Kitchen, followed by The Cafe in Key West, Florida and finally, Lovina in Calistoga, California.
