Where do Smurfs live when they tire of their mushroom-shaped home in the forest? Why, this home listed for $4.199 million in West Bloomfield Township, Michigan, of course!

With a blue roof to please the most discerning of woodland denizens, this 7,476-square-foot home sits right on the shores of Pine Lake, as reported by Metro. The home earns you 175 feet of sandy lakefront access and a 100-foot dock with boat lift and ski jet lift.

The blue-roofed home in an aerial view sits on the edge of a greenish lake, with a long white boat deck.

The house radiates a certain English countryhouse charm with its gabled roofs, blue shutters and eyebrow window. Arched windows and doors add to the Cotswold architectural look. (The original Cotswold cottages in England were built to house sheep-rearing farmers). The property stretches for three acres and includes 187 feet of golf course. Built in 1920, this really was a storybook home; fireplaces and sleeping porches are offered in many of the seven bedrooms, and throughout the home fairy-tale sized doors and window please the eye.

Pots of red geraniums flank the walkway to the front door of the home, where three different pitched roofs extend. This view shows the varying thickness of the roofline and the wavy nature of the roof and wall shingles.

The striking blue roof was in actuality meant to mirror the wavery lines of lake water moved by wind. The exterior’s wall shingles, too, appear to be moving. In different interior rooms, tiling and wall paint choices seem to echo the blue on the roof.

However, most of the interior is very traditional and beautifully decorated with nothing Cartoon Networkish to speak of. Metro says it might be haunted; is it from that time Smurfette mysteriously disappeared?

The grey-hued interior shows the glass French doors of the entry as well as a staircase that elegantly curves to the second floor.

If you're big on cars, the home has a multi-car garage to house them.

It's now been on the market for ten days. If you want to see the home with a more traditional grey roof, check out this site.
