First-class just got an upgrade. United Airlines recently announced that their new domestic first-class seats will be getting a tech-savvy makeover. Debuting this summer and expected to roll out on over 200 planes by late 2026, United’s new first-class seats will be improved to feature vegan leather upholstery, 13-inch seatback TV screens, 18-inch tray tables, Bluetooth connectivity, privacy screens, wireless charging, and an ergonomist-designed cushion.

“This new United First seat is designed around the modern traveler—more charging options, bigger spaces for devices, food, drinks and personal items and extra privacy,” explained Mark Muren, United Managing Director of Identity, Product and Loyalty.

United’s new seatback screens are not only Bluetooth capable but also include a remote for those who can’t reach the screen. The larger tray table includes a built-in tablet holder and ample space for laptops, along with Italian quartzite cocktail tables and bottle holders between each seat. The seats themselves will have adjustable armrests, a 5-inch recline range, and an ergonomic seat cushion designed for a wider variety of heights.

But that’s not all. Perhaps most anticipated are the changes to charging your tech on board. Passengers in the new first-class seats will be able to charge multiple electronic devices at once, thanks to three different types of charging docks available in each and every seat. Wireless, AC outlets, and USB-C outlets will ensure that you stay battery-powered from take-off ‘til landing.

With all of these upgrades on the horizon, it’s never been more comfortable to fly the friendly skies.
