We think that if pumpkin spice latte were to go architectural and transform itself into a house, it would be this one in Pownal, Vermont. It’s got all the cozy, rounded corners of a pumpkin that’s been carved out...plus given its surroundings, this place will soon be surrounded by deeply colorful fall foliage. It also shows up on our listing of best OMG Airbnbs, so if you crave peak fall vibes, we’re going to suggest you book this Airbnb and settle down with some apple cider while wearing your thickest cable knit sweater. Autumn is happening!

Known as the Owl Hill House (we challenge you to find a cuter name), the unusual home was built by sculptors in the early 1980s and recently renovated. It’s 570 square feet of adorableness and built-in furniture, with a queen-sized bed in a sleeping nook. It’s on the end of a private dirt road in Vermont—sigh. Pownal’s at the farthest southwest end of the state, and according to this map which tells you when fall foliage will peak in each state, this hobbit house will have lush views of orange, red and gold leaves that peak around October 9.

Nearby are beautiful towns for hiking and exploring, and you can even be at the incredible art offerings of MASS MoCA within 20 minutes. Ahhhhhh but maybe you just want to sit and read by the light of an orange candle while feeding yourself candy corn by the fistful.
