Vancouver, your after-work drink just got a serious upgrade.
Time Out Market Vancouver has launched a new happy hour, and we’re calling this one a contender for the best in the city.
Why? For starters, it happens every single day of the week, not just during the Tuesday-to-Thursday window when you’re inevitably still answering emails.
Happy hour runs daily from 2 to 6 pm, then starts all over again from 8 pm until close. Translation: you can slip in for an early dinner and drinks, make it your post-work destination or show up later for round two.
And the prices are extremely easy to like.
Time Out Market beers are $6, select wines (including Mionetto Prosecco, Pinot Grigio, rosé and Cabernet Sauvignon) are $7 a glass, while select cocktails are $8. That lineup includes the Green Tea Fizz, Negroni and Espresso Martini, plus a non-alcoholic Raspberry Spritz for anyone skipping the booze.
This is happy hour you can turn into a whole night out
Part of the appeal is the setting. Time Out Market Vancouver at Oakridge Park was basically designed for the group chat: everyone can order whatever they want to eat, regroup over drinks and then stick around for whatever is happening that night.
The Market regularly hosts live musicians and DJs, free Mahjong socials, creative workshops and other events, so a casual happy-hour meet-up can very easily turn into an entire evening. Even better, the weekly entertainment calendar means you can sip your discounted drink while enjoying live music without adding a concert ticket to the tab.
Sundays bring live jazz, Mondays feature live musicians, Thursdays have video DJs, Fridays turn into DJ-fuelled parties and Saturdays combine live local talent in the afternoon with DJs at night.
Basically: dinner, cheap drinks and entertainment under one roof. Your friend who always asks “Okay, but what are we doing after?” has officially been neutralized.
There are a couple more deals worth memorizing, too.
Thirsty Thursdays mean 50% off bottles of select wines all day, which makes Thursday dinner suddenly look extremely attractive. And on Sunday Funday, Caesars, mimosas and select beers are $7.
The new happy hour soft-launched on September 14, but the official celebration happens Friday, September 18, including a Please Beverage Co. tasting pop-up from 5 to 7 pm.
So yes, you could drop by for one quick $7 glass of wine.
