Birreria Zanon is the bar you didn’t know you needed in Venice, with cheap eats, strong cocktails, craft beers from around the world and the most laid-back of vibes. Its location deep in Cannaregio means crowds are almost always manageable, and tables right along the Rio della Misericordia invite lingering, at least for another round of drinks and another plate of cicchetti. Tramezzini—tasty little sandwiches on white bread—are a specialty here and served toasted, in whole or half portions.
Time Out tip: The Birreria opens at 9 AM and the cicchetti start coming out of the kitchen at that hour. So do as the locals do, and stop in early for a snack and a glass of beer or wine—when in Venice!
