Palazzo Stern

Built in the early 20th century in eclectic pastiche style, Palazzo Stern is now home to this elegant hotel. A magnificent wooden staircase leads up to rooms done out in classic Venetian style in pale shades. Pricier rooms have views over the Grand Canal but the standard doubles at the back face towards a lovely garden. There’s a view that stretches across the city to the Dolomites from the rooftop terrace, where there’s a jacuzzi for guests’ use. A wonderful breakfast terrace overlooks the canal.
