Flowers cascade from the window boxes of this delightful, friendly little hotel in an excellent location. The spotlessly clean rooms have a simple, sunny aspect and the welcome is always warm. The San Samuele is several notches above most of its fellow one-star establishments, although both the single rooms and one of the doubles have bathrooms in the corridor, and walls are rather thin.
There’s free wi-fi throughout and staff are always ready with well-informed advice and recommendations. Plans are afoot to add further ‘superior’ rooms upstairs, all with air-con. San Samuele is very popular, so book well in advance. Breakfast is not included, though there’s a coffee machine in reception for guests, and a fridge to keep your supplies in.
