Time Out says

For a nice balance between dishes from land and sea, head to this friendly, informal eatery tucked into a tiny alley off Campiello de l'Anconeta.

Wedged into a quiet, two-person wide lane off a busy piazza, this casual, rustic-modern restaurant and wine bar is bright and cheerful, with a menu to match. Items are color-coded based on ingredients, so vegetarians, celiacs, meat- and seafood-lovers can home in on their preferences, and the kitchen is accommodating to a fault. Land- or sea-based tasting menus are particularly tempting here, and an affordable way to sample a range of offerings.

Time Out tip: Apart from worthwhile tasting menus, La Colombina also offers 4-, 6- or 9-portion plates of cicchetti from a smorgasbord-like glass case, a great option if you can’t decide on just one or two items from the long menu.

Nearby:
Palazzo Labia/Salone del Tiepolo: For treasured Tiepolo frescoes
Casinò di Venezia: For high-rolling in a casino dating to 1638
Pasticceria Nobile: For salty or sweet snacks from an old-school bakery
