Time Out says

Crochet Circle at The Phillips Collection turns a familiar craft into a conversation between art, making and community. Led by Dwayne Lawson-Brown, also known as the Crochet Kingpin, the gathering connects crochet with works from the museum’s collection, using visual art as inspiration for new creations and shared discussion. The August session continues that exchange with a chance to see Lawson-Brown’s own work in progress while participants stitch, learn and trade ideas. The relaxed format welcomes complete beginners as well as experienced fiber artists, making it less of a class and more of a creative meetup. With materials provided and refreshments available, it is an easy way to spend an evening making something by hand while seeing how art can extend beyond the gallery walls.
