Hotel bars don’t typically factor into locals’ game-day plans, but High Velocity (at the relatively new Washington Marriott Marquis) should shake up that trend. Sleek, sophisticated and screen-filled (more than 40 TVs!), at HV if you can’t see a game from where you’re sitting, you’re probably inside a bathroom stall. Their 48 draft lines offer a wide variety of rotating beer options (many of them craft). While prices are a little higher than at other sports bars, the food options are a bit higher-brow as well. Need to check on your fantasy team’s progress? There’s free Wi-Fi, so gloat (or groan) to your heart’s content.
