Baila Thursdays

Baila Thursdays is a useful midweek excuse to stop overthinking your salsa skills and get on the floor. The evening starts with a beginner footwork lesson from Baila DC, and no partner is required, so you can show up without assembling a whole dance crew first. After that, the room opens up for three hours of dancing with rotating DJs, which gives the night a different musical personality from one session to the next. The La Cosecha setting helps, too. You can take a break from dancing for cocktails or food from the surrounding vendors without turning the night into a full sit-down affair. At $20 for the lesson and social, or $15 for dancing alone, it is an easy Thursday commitment. Go early if you want the lesson, then stay long enough to get past the awkward first few songs.
