Once the stodgy Governor’s House Hotel, the Beacon was completely remade into a boutique-style lodging befitting the trendy Logan Circle neighborhood. Four nights a week, you can head to the rooftop for great views, designer martinis and appetisers. The Beacon is convenient for Connecticut Avenue shopping and a short stroll to the White House. Passes to the YMCA are available on request. Some suites resemble small apartments, complete with kitchens.
