Time Out says

Restaurateur Hollis Silverman's spot near Eastern Market is known for hyper seasonal menus inspired by New England and Northern California.

The vibe: Leisurely but elevated. The interior is all light wood and glass, with enviably tall and packed bookshelves lining the walls. This a place ripe for sharing, which makes dining feel like an elevated but inviting dinner party.

The food: The Duck & The Peach does wonderful things with poultry, so order the roast chicken (one of the best in the city) or whichever permutation of duck is on offer. The fresh ingredients really shine here, so be sure to snag one of the rotating vegetable dishes. For dessert, get the sweet corn bar, a heavenly corn cake topped with peaches and caramel corn.

The drink: Take a cue from the restaurant's name and order one of these peach drinks: the non-alcoholic peach and ginger Shrub is a zingy meal accompaniment, or the lemon and rose-inflected peach sour.

Time Out tip: Come a little early and have pre dinner drinks at The Wells, a gin-focused speakeasy that's one of Time Out's best bars in D.C.
