he Virginia Belles is the oldest and most established all-female a cappella group at the University of Virginia. Simply put, they are a group of young ladies who love to sing without instruments, and the group, though changing members through the years, has been making beautiful music since its founding 35 years ago. Completely student-run, the Belles perform an eclectic range of vocal music from oldies and classic rock to indie and R&B. The Belles share their music at a variety of venues at the University, in Charlottesville, and along the east coast. They were recognized by the Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards, opened for Ingrid Michaelson at the Music Inspires Health concert in Washington D.C., and have even been covered by Fox news.
