A massive heat dome is coming for NYC and there’s nowhere to hide

If you can’t take the heat, get out of NYC. There will be dangerously hot temperatures in NYC this weekend, and it’s actually going to be so bad that the heat wave has been upgraded to a heat dome, an area of high pressure in the atmosphere that creates a bubble full of hot air (literally) over the country. It will send the heat index into the 100s—meaning, it will feel hotter than it actually is thanks to this awful humidity.

The rest of the country will be staggering through triple-digit temperatures this week, especially the Midwest, though it could even reach Nashville and Washington, D.C., for the highest temperatures there in years.

As of today, the worst day in NYC will be Saturday, when temperatures will reach 97 degrees. Your only chance for survival is staying indoors and drinking lots of water (and frozen boozy slushies).
