It's day two in our week of free! All week, we're giving out exclusive freebies, letting local celebrities tell you their favorite free things in NYC and, of course, bringing you our picks for awesome, zero-cost things to do around the city. Here are the top five free things you should hit up around New York today.

Stargazing on the High Line, The High Line
Looking up at the night sky is, obviously, always free. But it’s not every night you can gaze at the stars in one of New York’s coolest parks, with an expert guide. For that, head to this outdoor event starting at sunset, lead by the Amateur Astronomers Association of New York. In case of inclement weather, check @highlinenyc for updates.

New Sounds Live, Winter Garden
WNYC’s annual New Sounds Live concert is all about adventurous new music, and this year is no different. Show up at Winter Garden at 7:30pm tonight for a free presentation of Julia Wolfe’s “Steel Hammer”, a musical retelling of the legend of John Henry, brought to you by Bang on a Can All-Stars. You can also catch free concerts at the Tribeca space Wednesday and Thursday.

Hot Soup, Irish Exit
This free comedy show can always be counted on for big-name celebrity guests, as well as laughs. You’ll definitely see Ryan Beck, Matt Ruby, Matt Wayne, Nick Turner, Barry Rothbar and Hari Kondabolu at the 8pm show tonight, but there’s no way of knowing who else might stop by. Sarah Silverman, Jim Gaffigan, Nick Kroll and Aziz Ansari are just some of the recognizable names that have given unannounced performances in the past.

Festival Albertine, Albertine
To celebrate the opening of French bookstore Albertine, the store is hosting a month-long festival full of fascinating events. Later in the week, you can catch talks and presentations from a Nobel Prize-winning economist and the creator of Mad Men. Tonight, stop by the new space at 7pm for a free panel discussion of Olivier Assayas in the Post-May Period.

Buddies, Nowhere
What’s not to love about a great dive bar? DJ Damian Cote spins as this casual get-together tonight at the 14th street gay bar, with an eclectic set of underground dance, punk, rock and funk. Dance the night away, with no cover.
