Vote for NYC's best grilled cheese at next week's Big Cheesy

What better way is there to warm up during this frigid New York winter than with a toasty, gooey grilled cheese? On Saturday, January 24th and Sunday, January 25th, Time Out New York will be partnering with Openhouse to bring you our very own grilled-cheese smackdown, the Big Cheesy: Winter Edition. 

Taste your way through six cheesy contenders, including Sons of Essex's La Cubana (pulled pork, sliced ham, Swiss cheese and dill pickle chips on white bread), Eggs Travaganza's Mexican number (chorizo fresco, bacon and smoked jalapeño on seven grain) and a guac-and-bacon variety from Mrs. Dorsey's Kitchen, and then cast your vote for the People's Choice Award winner.

A $30 ticket gets you a one-hour grilled-cheese tasting, as well as two beers from Goose Island, and proceeds will benefit the Food Bank for New York City. Openhouse Gallery, 201 Mulberry St between Kenmare and Spring Sts. Noon–7pm.
