There may not be a better comfort food staple to dig into than gooey, stringy macaroni and cheese. On Sunday, March 29, the decadent dish hits the spotlight during Time Out New York and Openhouse Gallery's curd showdown, the Mac Daddy

Coming back for a second round, the cheesy competition features some of the city's best restaurants,  including Almond, Duke's, Eats on Lex, Atwood Kitchen & Bar Room, FAME by Alex Mitow and the Stand. During one of the hour-long sessions from 11am to 6pm, stuff yourself silly with each of the six contestant's gooey plates and wash them down with a pair of complimentary Goose Island pints, then vote for your favorite to take home the mac crown. Tickets are $30, a portion of which benefits the New York City Food Bank. Openhouse Gallery, 201 Mulberry St between Kenmare and Spring Sts. Noon–7pm.
