The amazing cosplay and comics spectacle ended last night, so let’s look at the highlights The doors have closed to the glass castle of the Javits Center and New York Comic Con is over for another year. We saw enough Star Lord, Deadpool and Harley Quinn imitators to last us a lifetime, but we also saw the con grow with a larger relocated Artist Alley, Weta Workshop's intense Hobbit booth, and even the gigantic balloons of the stars of Teen Titans Go! We’ve been living with it for a long time. The bagel guy outside my office will no longer accept my patronage because he suspects I’m a Skrull imposter. Well, you know, that tends to happen. [Laughs] As a comic fan and not the boss of Marvel, who are you most excited to see at the Con? For me, it’s always most exciting to see the fans. And not even fans that are there to see me or Marvel in general, but just to see how the industry has grown since 2000, when Marvel was bankrupt. New York Comic Con seems to get bigger every year, and those attending the 2012 edition will have to make some tough decisions about which of the 500-plus activities to attend. Panelists range from comic-book legends (Stan Lee, as always) to actors that have embraced their niche onscreen roles (Robert Carradine of Revenge of the Nerds fame). Of course, part of the fun is just wandering around and ogling the geeks in costume.
