Gracious and hip, the Mandarin has won raves since its 2006 opening for its fabulously textured and draped rooms and for the Asian cuisine served at its restaurant, Essensia. Ensconced in a former 14th-century monastery right next to the Czech Museum of Music, the hotel stands discreetly on a little-trafficked lane that's just a ten-minute walk from the Charles Bridge. In mild weather, thick walls protect the designer terrace amid blooming lavender; inside, the Barego bar is a smart hangout for Prague's arty and media types. Other facilities include a first-class gym and spa.
