Located on a little winding street near the Charles Bridge, the Čertovka is named after the canal on which it sits. Formerly a baroque mansion, it was developed into a comfortable hideaway in 2000, then badly hit by the floods of 2002. Now, though, it's back on top, and reasonably priced to boot. Some rooms look on to Prague Castle or the Charles Bridge tower (no.10 has the best view), but the most romantic room fronts the canal. The furnishings are tastefully modern with hints of 18th-century poshness, and staff are warm and attentive.
